Hamas torches kids’ summer camps in Gaza, UN blames Israel

The irrepressible Melanie Phillips highlights today yet another searing indictment of the Islamist extremists who run Gaza, and their UN apologists who with mindblowing intransigence refuse to recognise the real root cause of what is going on there. It transpires that Hamas has yet again torched a UN run children’s summer camp to prevent the heinous crime against Islam of little boys and girls playing together and having fun.

To all sane and reasoned individuals — ie. not the British foreign office, not the Obama administration and most certainly not the United Nations — this would come as yet another piece of evidence of the vile, extremist nature of the people who run Gaza and remain intent on holding it in a state of backwardness and religious-ideological conformism.

So here is John Ging, head of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Gaza, on the BBC:

“”This is another example of the growing levels of extremism in Gaza and further evidence, if that were needed, of the urgency to change the circumstances on the ground.” In other words, it’s Israel’s fault.

My God in heaven. As Melanie Phillips so rightly says by way of correction to Ging’s lunacy:

“Those ‘circumstances on the ground’ are the presence of Hamas. It is Hamas that has to be isolated and defeated if a start is to be made in slowing down the rate of extremism. But that’s not what Ging means. What he means is the idiotic mantra mouthed by the UN, Britain America and the EU who all chant in brainwashed chorus that Israel must not only allow in yet more humanitarian aid but also – increasingly – bring in Hamas from the cold.

“In other words, the way to stop more extremism being generated in Gaza is — to provide more aid, encouragement and legitimacy to the extremists. That is what the UN, Britain, the US and EU are all now doing – supporting the extremism which makes the lives of Gaza’s Arabs such a misery. At the same time they blame Israel, the principal state victim of that extremism, for that misery; and have now even forced it to open up the channels of that western support, with the result that yet more Israelis will also be attacked.

“The implacable resolution with which the bien-pensant western world persists in this mad inversion of reality is truly terrifying – and is one of the main reasons why the bad people are winning.”

THERE IS THIS CURIOUS SYNDROME WHERBY E A KIDNAP VICTIM FALLS IN WITH HIS CAPTORS. IN THIS CASE THE WEST SENSES AN IMPLACABLE AND RUTHLESS ENEMY, EVEN A POSSIBLE WINNER BECAUSE IT WILL STOP AT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO GET ITS WAY. THAT IS WHY WE ALL KNOW. ABSOLUTELY. THAT IF SUCH FANATICS GET THE BOMB, THEY WILL USE IT. LOGIC WOULD NOT INHIBIT THEM. WE KNOW THAT SUCH NORMAL THOUGHT PROCESSES DO NOT APPLY TO THOSE WHO PREFER THE NEXT WORLD TO THIS ONE.
THE BEST WAY OUT OF THIS CRAZY SITUATION IS FOR THE WEST TO OFFER UP ISRAEL TO THESE PEOPLE ON THE ASSUMPTION THAT THIS WOULD END THEIR RADICAL ACTIVITIES. IT IS THE LOGIC OF THE VICTIM.
AS PLANELOADS OF DEAD SOLDIERS LAND, VICTIMS OF FANATICALLY DERANGED PSYCHOPATHS, OUR GOVERNEMENT IS SO FRIGHTEND THAT IT OFFERS AN ENQUIRY ABUOT YHE ROLE OF M15 AND 6. IN PSSIBLE REMOTE INDIRECT SILENCE ABOUT TORTURE- AS IF TORTURE NEVER TAKES PLACE IN WARTIME.
BY OFFERING FURTHER SACRIFICES TO THESE MONSTERS WE CERTAINLY WEAKEN OUR ABILITY TO PROTECT OURSELVES NOT ONLY FROM EXTERNAL ENEMIES BUT ,SADLY, TOO MANY HERE AT HOME.. THIS IS A TERRIBLE WAR WHERE THE ENEMY FIGHTS BEHIND THE CIVILIAN POPULATION.THESE SOLDIERS ARE DYING FIGHTING MUSLIM EXTREMISTS. PERHAPS SOMEONE SHOULD TELL THE GOVERNMENT WHAT’S GOING ON.

Thank you for pointing out what the few know and the masses need to hear, that Israel is not the problem, as a friend has aptly stated, but part of the solution and that Hamas and its cronies, such as the UN are the real problem in the region.

This atrocity (the second time this has happened) went unreported in the Guardian, the Times, the FT and the Independent. It was reported by the Telegraph, and - in a flying pig moment - by the BBC.

It demonstrates how the liberal media are hiding the truth about Israel and Palestine from the British public.

I’m so angry with these airhead Irish idiots that I avoid ranting again altogether.
Instead take a look at this:
“World’s unions reject boycotts, embrace Israeli-Palestinian cooperation”
It’s a bit off topic, but I’d share gladly because it’s good news.
A mighty slap in the face for the English/Scottish/Welsh/Irish Union supporters of Iran, Hamas and Islamists in the ideologically uniformed Unions (among them, UCU the Union for teachers and academics; UNISON etc.) who just recently voted for various outrageous boycott measures and hysterical positions (some of them sounding eerily close to antisemitism) against Israel and Israeli Unions.

(I am convinced these unions have become by now completely subverted from within by the most radical, outright terror-supporting people one can imagine.)

I have seen a news article where a Hamas spokesperson condemned this raid. I wish Melanie had not used the headline she did; our side can afford zero sensationalism licence. Such prejudgment allows the other side to discount what we say.

Over time we might find out that Hamas was invoved or their lack of vigour in finding and punishing the culprits might condemn them. Until then we should sit on our hands about Hamas and point to the senseless extremism that exists in Gaza thanks to conditions there; conditions with Hamas in power promoting hard-core Islamism.

Robin Shepherd says: This could not have happened involving such large numbers of attackers, for the second time, and against such a high profile target unless Hamas was involved. In any case, there is something of a game of musical chairs going on in Gaza with these “splinter” groups on the Islamist side where in reality they are the same people with the same ideological foundations.

When I read about the goings on mentioned by Gabor at the British unions I wonder at their fantastic achievements - salaries and working conditions in Britain have obviously reached perfection, and there is nothing left to be accomplished regarding social welfare. This is the only way to explain why the union members are willing to devote so much time and energy to trying to cause any little bit of unpleasantness for Israel. As for the results- they are best expressed by a saying in Arabic - the dog barks, and the caravan continues on its way.

    @Andy Gill

I saw this incident reported in the Telegraph, but did you notice that it was downplayed by being referred to as “vandalism”?

“I have seen a news article where a Hamas spokesperson condemned this raid.”

No doubt you also believe everything you read in the New York Times. This was the Gray Lady’s take on the incident:

Vandals Set Fire to U.N. Children’s Camp in Gaza

Exactly what you might expect from the newspaper that remained silent during the Holocaust and covered up Stalin’s crimes.

Also, an interesting letter about Fares Akram, who wrote the above piece:

“Fares Akram’s article “Hamas Executes Two Accused of Aiding Israel” (April 15, 2010, page A11) prominently features Human Rights Watch (HRW). However, the Times fails to mention Akram’s ongoing professional affiliation with HRW. This conflict of interest is particularly problematic considering that HRW’s reporting on Israel and strident political advocacy are the subject of extensive controversy.

Fares Akram works as a “research consultant” for HRW, and has been associated with the NGO since at least 2007. He contributed to three major HRW publications alleging Israeli war crimes during the Gaza war: Rain of Fire (March 25, 2009), Precisely Wrong (June 30, 2009), and White Flag Deaths (August 13, 2009).

In light of this conflict of interest, the April 15 article should be corrected to acknowledge Akram’s relationship with HRW. The Times should also consider Akram’s dual role as an HRW employee and a journalist.”

Brad Brzezinski Says:”I have seen a news article where a Hamas spokesperson condemned this raid. I wish Melanie had not used the headline she did..”

You might be surprized but even Arafat used to play both sides, sending terror and talking peace at the same time.

  10. Gábor Fränkl Says:

    Naomi, you are right.

These pseudo-unions’ overt radical political activism completely delegitimzes them. they should be totally cleansed of these elements.
Until that happens, I am sorry to say, the only reasonable policy for big world bodies that managed to retain elementary sense of fairness and anti-antisemitism, should be the total exclusion of ALL British, Irish and all other members that play destructive parts, and whose reason-for-being is the antisemitic campaign against Israel.
So yes, the British unions in their present form should be excluded, shamed and delegitimised for reason to prevail.
Please spread the word about their evil and rottenness.

  11. Cynic Says:

    Daph,

Most people do not know that the last suicide bombing that occurred in Tel Aviv in 2006 was the combined effort of three groups.
Hamas financed it, Fatah’s “armed” wing Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade Islamic the logistics and Jihad supplied the bomber.
