Launch of major new Friends of Israel Initiative
For those that are not aware of it, Jose Maria Aznar, former Prime Minister of Spain and one of Europe’s most distinguished elder statesmen, has launched a major global initiative to bring reason and decency back to the discussion of Israel.
I would encourage readers to go the new website by clicking here.
The website will explain who is involved and how you can help. It is the most important initiative of its kind for decades, and I would ask all of you to send the link to the website to everybody on your email list.

This initiative looks very impressive. Andrew Roberts’ two speeches are masterful summaries and constitute one of the most eloquent defences of Israel I have ever read.
For too long we in Britain have been subjected to a cynical propaganda campaign whose purpose has been to delegitimize Israel, and which has deliberately hidden the true nature of Israeli society from the British people.
Events that illustrate Israel’s vibrant democracy, its racial diversity, its religious tolerance, its scientific and cultural achievements are never reported. Instead, every tiny blemish (and what country is unblemished?) is magnified out of all proportion and shouted from the rooftops.
It is encouraging to see senior public figures and politicians taking a principled stand against the hate-mongers in the British establishment.

Let’s send the link to the BBC office. Then Georgina Henry, Alan Rusbridger and Fisk & Co.

Perhaps it’s me but for the life of me I cannot work out what the petition says and who it is addressed to. Can anyone help?
